Underground versus Mainstream:

La scena musicale di allora in sintesi era composta da 2 versanti completamente agli antipodi tra loro, da un lato le raffinate produzioni di grande qualità con un indole pioneristica e rivolte ad un pubblico maturo ed esigente, dall'altra parte invece di prodotti più tendenti ad un concetto pop di facile impatto, costruiti a tavolino per colpire rapidamente le masse, soprattutto mediante l'immagine, con l'obbiettivo dichiarato di finire in rotazione su Mtv.

Cos'è cambiato in questi 25 anni?

Fondamentalmente nella musica da club i 2 concetti, ricerca integralista da una parte e il mainstream "facile" dall'altra persistono tuttora, con l'aggiunta oggi di tanti, forse troppi sottogeneri, meteore sonore che continuano a produrre altri sottogeneri, in un continuo meteorismo musicale, ora non più su Mtv ma riversato autarchicamente su Youtube.
Questo, a mio parere ha portato oggi a un appiattimento e in una saturazione del mercato con troppe proposte, dove il mainstream nel frattempo si è raffinato e ha ridotto il gap con compiaciuti artisti autoproclamatosi underground che a loro volta sono andati ad abbracciare la ricerca non più del nuovo, del bello e del diverso, ma bensì dell'immagine virale e del packaging, basti pensare al genere inflazionato della deep-house.

Metaforicamente il suono da club contemporaneo è un pò come l' I-Phone:
sopravvalutato ed ultrapiatto, tracotante nell'archivio musicale e pieno zeppo di orpelli troppo spesso inutili, fondamentalmente incapace di emozionare ed ispirare, ma con un immagine talmente cool da essere considerato da alcuni necessario e indispensabile, ma pur sempre una meteora luminosa che se gettata nel water poco dopo di lei non ne resta più traccia, perchè non provate a fare lo stesso con un amplificatore da 8 kg?





Ai quei tempi un disco così non andava ballato, bensì vissuto.

North Easter

E' un giorno di festività, e se penso alle mie radici nel nord est Italiano più che alle riunioni famigliari preferisco pensare a un tipico pomeriggio Pasquale passato all'aria aperta, magari tra amici e in una ambientazione bucolica, sorseggiando un vino della casa in una delle decine di "Osmize" collocate sulle colline.
Questo è il suono tipico dei balcani, molto comune tra le minoranze radicate soprattutto sull'altipiano del Carso, per chi è nato in una città di frontiera come lo è Trieste, sa di cosa parlo.

Se siete disorientati da questo particolare progetto musicale,  prendetelo con ironia, questo è il motto Triestino. (e poi è il primo giorno di Aprile)
Qui si scherza ma fino ad un certo punto.





Is a day dedicated to the festivity, and when I think of my roots in the north east Italian, more than to family gatherings i prefer to think of a typical Easter afternoon spent outdoors, perhaps with friends and a countrified bucolic setting, sipping a local wine in one of dozens of "Osmize" located on the hills.
This is the typical sound influnzato from the Balkans, very common among minorities rooted mainly on the up land, for those born in a frontier town as it is Trieste knows what I mean.

If you are confused by this particular musical project, take it with humor, this is the watchword in Trieste. (and this is the first day of April)

Se il nome dei produttori e l'argomento di giornata vi fanno venire in mente il termine Cosmic, sappiate che è un genere che non è mai esistito anche se è stato millantato, in passato esisteva il Funk e la Disco, quindi il genere Cosmic è una cavolata, anzi una balla spaziale.


If the name of the producers and the topic of the day will bring to mind the word Cosmic, but you must know it is a genre that has never existed even though it was boasted and vaunted.
