First on Mars: Leo Mas

Nato come bassista presto si appassionò all'arte del djing. Arrivò a Ibiza nell'85 e dopo di lui l'isola non fu più la stessa, assieme ad Alfredo mise a punto una selezione musicale totalmente inedita per l'epoca, un genere che in seguito verrà universalmente riconosciuto come Balearic, tutti i dj, soprattutto Inglesi e Americani che ebbero il privilegio di ascoltare quel tipo di approccio rimasero folgorati e ne seguirono con entusiasmo il percorso.
In questo triennio soprattutto da Detroit e da Chicago, si affermò quel suono tipico chiamato House Music, e Leo Mas che era sempre un passo avanti ne intuì le potenzialità, definendo questo movimento musicale il nuovo Punk.
Tornato in Italia per proporre questo stile, rese celebre il Movida e leggendari gli Afterhours, due su tutti, il Ranch e il Mazoom.
Una personalità anarchica, un artista completo colto e sensibile, da molti riconosciuto come Magico.
Se molti dj ci hanno trasportato sulla luna, Leo Mas è stato il primo a portarci tutti su Marte.
Tuttora in attività, con lo stesso smalto di sempre.



Born as a bassist soon became interested in the art of djing.
